Our sincere desire is to help you do just that by providing the latest researched information in this free download: How to Treat Depression Without Medication: 5 Natural Depression Therapies that Treat Serotonin Deficiency Symptoms and Other Common Causes of Depression.

Serotonin Deficiency Symptoms

Is the type depression you have one where you are negative, pessimistic, distrustful, gloomy, and you have low self esteem and are always worrying? Do you crave sweets and feel better immediately after you eat them? These are common serotonin deficiency symptoms, and they signal one of the most common causes of depression. Serotonin is a powerful brain neurotransmitter; with adequate levels in the brain and its proper functioning, you will be positive, happy, confident, flexible, and easy-going. With low levels of serotonin, you will become negative, obsessive, worried, irritable, sleepless and… depressed.

Women Experience Serotonin Deficiency Symptoms More Than Men

Are you a woman? Women have depression more often than men and when they do, serotonin deficiencies are more often a factor than in men. A study published in September 2007 in the journal Biological Psychiatry showed that men and women react to serotonin deficiency in different ways.[1] The men became impulsive and might abuse alcohol or caffeine, but they were not necessarily depressed. Women, on the other hand, experienced a marked drop in mood and became depressed. The message here is that women should especially be alert to any of these serotonin deficiency symptoms if they are experiencing depression.

Common Causes of Depression – Finding Yours is a Most Critical Step

The challenge in overcoming depression is that it is multi-factorial; that is, there are multiple possible common causes of depression. Any one of them (or more) could be contributing to your symptoms. For example, adrenal or thyroid hormone deficiencies, serotonin or dopamine imbalances, or even the excessive consumption of processed foods can each be one of the possible “root” causes of depression. But in order for you to beat depression naturally, you must discover which of the root causes of depression apply to you! Our FREE Special Report How to Treat Depression Without Medication: 5 Natural Depression Therapies that Treat Serotonin Deficiency Symptoms and Other Common Causes of Depression will identify several of the most debilitating and common causes of depression along with the corresponding action needed to correct these specific causes of depression.

5 Top Therapies to Treat Depression Without Medication

If you or a friend or loved one suffers from major depression you know what a challenging disorder it is to treat. On other disorders, you use your mind to help devise a recovery plan and then provide the motivation to put that plan into place. With depression, your mind is the problem; and it leaves you aimless and stuck. Plus you need to start feeling better to even possibly be in a position to continue a recovery process. And there is no magic pill solution – either pharmacological or natural that by itself can eliminate these debilitating symptoms. So how in the world can a person who is already sick do that? Fortunately, researchers and leading integrative medicine doctors have validated the effectiveness of some specific natural healing therapies for treating several of the most common causes of depression. Our FREE Report describes 5 of the top therapies. They are not the only ones available, but they are the place to start. These 5 natural depression therapies will give you a science based strategy to treat your depression without medication. Here they are.

Natural Depression Therapy #1:
Increase Serotonin Naturally

We discussed serotonin deficiency symptoms in the section above so you should know just by observing your symptoms if insufficient serotonin is one of the likely causes of your depression. Thankfully, if it is, experts in mood disorders have discovered how to increase serotonin without having to resort to the antidepressant drugs which carry major side effects such as weight gain, reduced libido and even increased suicide risk.

The good news is that the common amino acid tryptophan – found in turkey and other protein foods – can be metabolized by the body to dramatically increase brain serotonin levels! But don’t think that you can improve serotonin levels by just eating more turkey. A very specific approach is needed. Learn this approach and the most effective way to use this important amino acid to increase your brain serotonin level in our free download How to Treat Depression Without Medication: 5 Natural Depression Therapies that Treat Serotonin Deficiency Symptoms and Other Common Causes of Depression.

Natural Depression Therapy #2:
Engage a Caring Advocate to Help You Overcome Depression

Since depression often involves unclear and disoriented thinking on the part of its victim, an outside perspective is a critical necessity to the healing process. Who can that person be in your life – a spouse, a long time friend, a close work associate, a dependable relative?

Once you have identified who that person should be, you’ll need to be honest and divulge your true condition to your advocate. Being willing to admit you have a problem and a need for change is certainly the first step to a proactive healing. This person will use the information provided in this Free Report to help you determine if any of the common causes of depression apply to you, and then they will help you decide the appropriate natural depression therapy for you to implement.

We’ll give you key information to consider in choosing a confidant and how to build a support system for beating depression naturally.

Natural Depression Therapy #3:
Discover Natural Dopamine Boosters

Dopamine is considered the “focus” and “motivation” brain chemical. It is one of the key neurotransmitters your brain uses to keep your mood positive and focused. When our body has enough dopamine we’re blessed with feelings of bliss and pleasure, euphoria, drive and motivation, appetite control, controlled motor movements, and we feel focused. So if a dopamine deficiency is one of your root causes of depression, you likely struggle with a decreased ability to experience pleasure, decreased motivation, decreased ability to focus and pay attention and with cognitive slowing.

The improved natural production of this neurotransmitter dopamine needed for proper mood regulation also involves the use of specific amino acids as the essential raw materials. We get those amino acids from the protein in our food, and the brain uses the amino acid l-phenylalanine as the source (precursor) for the production of dopamine.

Once the body receives phenylalanine, it can convert it to another amino acid called tyrosine, which in turn is used to synthesize dopamine. With too little dopamine, a person experiences depression; too much dopamine or an imbalance can lead to a tendency towards addictive behaviors. So a healthy balance is the goal.

In your Free download, we’ll tell you about one of the most effective and safest ways to boost your brain’s store of dopamine – by use of the amino acid Tyrosine.

Natural Depression Therapy #4:
Get All the Fish Oil Benefits

Extensive clinical research shows a direct correlation between depression and low levels of the omega-3 essential fatty acid, the good kind of fat found in fish.

Are you getting in your diet enough of the brain healthy omega-3 fats? Most people with depression don’t get nearly enough and therefore need to supplement with fish oil – even if they eat fish.  Numerous scientific studies have demonstrated how effective the omega-3 fats in fish oil are in improving mood.

This is your fourth powerful therapy for depression treatment. We’ll show you the best ways to get fish oil through the foods you consume. We’ll also give you the daily dose recommended by integrative physicians for supplements of the important omega-3 fatty acid components, EPA and DHA. This therapeutic dosage will be necessary for your fish oil to impart its marvelous mood regulation benefits.

Natural Depression Therapy #5:
Absorb More Vitamin D

Vitamin D is absorbed naturally in your body through the sun. But most Americans are deficient in this critical nutrient, especially those who have clinical depression. Scientists have found a link between low levels of vitamin D3 and higher rates of depression in seniors. One study[2] found that people with the lowest levels of vitamin D were 11 times more prone to experience depression symptoms than those who had normal levels.

The fifth powerful step in your depression recovery plan is to optimize your Vitamin D level by bright light therapy, vitamin D foods, or through nutritional supplementation.

With your free download How to Treat Depression Without Medication: 5 Natural Depression Therapies that Treat Serotonin Deficiency Symptoms and Other Common Causes of Depression you’ll discover the correct blood test you or your doctor will need to run to accurately evaluate your Vitamin D levels. Also, you’ll learn three sure-fire ways to boost Vitamin D levels quickly and effectively. For most people, a daily supplement is the safest and easiest way to get Vitamin D levels up; but you need to make sure your dosage is right for you.

How long will it take to see improvement in your depression symptoms?

Many factors influence this. Some people begin to see mood improvement in as little as a few days while for others it takes as long as three weeks or even more. If you carefully and faithfully implement these strategies under the guiding counsel of your friend/advocate or your physician, you’ll give yourself an excellent chance to be feeling better soon.

But don’t stop there! You’ll be tempted to get on with life the way it use to be. But unless you change some things in your life that contributed to you getting into this condition in the first place, you may very well lapse right back into those depression symptoms again.

But by identifying your specific root causes of depression and then treating them with natural healing therapies, those horrible feelings of worthlessness, hopelessness, pessimism, apathy, and gloom can likely be kept away for good. If this is your goal, please download your FREE report now.

I got diagnoses of Dysthymia and Bipolar 2 and Cyclothymia. (From different psychiatrists.) I’m getting good results in treating my chronic blues by three things:

    1. Cutting out all the foods I am sensitive to. Gluten is a major problem. Also, nightshades–most people think they only cause arthritis in sensitive people. Well depression goes along with the achey joints. (For me, potatoes are the main culprit.) So find out what foods you are sensitive to. JJ Virgin’s book THE VIRGIN DIET is a good place to start to find out about food sensitiviy. If you are sensitive to a food, it can ruin your day, not to mention your life.

    2. Over-the-counter Lithium. It can work wonders. No prescription needed for these lower doses. Try Lithium orotate, or ionic lithium, or Li-Zyme. I’m taking low doses of the latter two, with great results. Lithium increases serotonin, according to what I’ve read. Avoid Lithium Aspartate, since the aspartate part can cause neuronal excitation that you don’t want. I got my ionic from Newbeginnings.com, and I get Li-Zyme from pureformulas.com or professionalsupplementcenter.com, both free shipping. Lithium orotate you can get from many places; read the great reviews on Amazon.

    3. Eat fermented foods before meals. Your gut has more to do with your brain than you know!! Get your good bacteria and you will be smiling. Of course, you can eat fermented food with and after meals too. I said before meals because on an empty stomach you will get most benefit. You can go to culturesforhealth.com or wildfermentation.com and learn to make these great foods. It’s a cinch.

  9. Carrie says

We love fermented foods too! In fact, we are getting started on our fermented foods cookbook, coming soon!
